The Story: Geniel Fife, a devoted mother and grandmother, finds new purpose in dance until an unexpected diagnosis puts everything at risk. Her children rally around her, uncovering her remarkable life story and drawing inspiration from her resilience.

How did the project start?
After our film team wrapped production on the short film 90 Years of Geniel Fife, our client reached out following Geniel’s pancreatic cancer diagnosis to capture more of her story.
We put together a vision for the ultimate Heirloom Film including revisiting her roots at the Idaho potato farm where she was raised, capturing a Disney inspired dance performance by Geniel, and a film premiere (of our short film) in Burlington Vermont for the 4th of July with her entire family. The film features interviews with Geniel, all 8 of her children, her 92 year old brother Sherwin, family Q&A sessions, archival content, and documentary moments for a comprehensive and intimate look into Geniel's life.

Heirloom Documentaries are a passion of mine. The vision to tell our elders stories has been a conscious dream for 10 years, but actually began over 20 years ago.
We must capture the wisdom of our grandparents, parents and elders before it is lost.
